Notification of Death - Former KWVA Officials

In January 2005, the President of the KWVA established that death notices of present or former National Officers and Directors would be placed on the website for thirty days.

All reports of deaths of members are published in The Graybeards, when reported to the Membership Office, and the Memorial List of those who have departed since the last National Convention are placed on a Memorial List awaiting the next Convention. Well done, honored comrades.

Bill LackBill Lack, LR43370, November 11, 2023

Former KWVA National Director Bill Lack reported to his final duty post on November 11th, 2023. He will be missed.

Wilfred Eugene “Bill” Lack passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Care Partners Hospice in Asheville, NC. Bill was born on August 6, 1934 in Meridian, MS.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and former Commander of the Korean War Veterans Association, WNC. Bill had a career in management with Sears, Western Auto, and Advance Auto Parts; as well as a management position with the Multinational Force & Observers in the Sinai in Egypt.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Beverly, son Tim, and daughter Suzie. He is survived by his daughter Kathie, sons Doug and Danny, and his current wife Sandy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 15 at the Lewis Memorial Park on Beaverdam Road.

In lieu of flowers, Bill would have preferred people make donations to the Korean War Veterans Association, WNC and the Donald J. Trump For President campaign.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
