Hannah Kim to Visit Korean War Memorials Across the US
Korean War Veterans’ Advocate Hannah Kim Kicks Off her whirlwind tour across the US on April 28, 2018!
Ms. Hannah Y Kim, ‘ad hoc’ representative of the Korean War Veterans Association, Inc., (KWVA), and Ambassadress of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation (KWVMFnd), will be embarking on a nation-wide odyssey to all 50 States across our beautiful nation, to visit a Korean War Memorial in 70 cities, from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, beginning 4/27 to 7/27 (90 Days).
The purpose of Ms. Kim's trip, as a grateful Korean American, is to pay homage to more than 36,000 Korean War Veterans who never returned home, to thank her surviving "Grandpas" in person, and promote lasting Peace on the Korean Peninsula-- as a tribute to the sacrifices that were made in the "Forgotten War." In doing so, she aims to raise money for the Wall of Remembrance by reminding America that Freedom is Not Free.
For more background, refer to her article in the Nov/Dec 2018 Graybeards,"COMING TO A MEMORIAL NEAR YOU!"
Attached is the planned itinerary of Ms. Kim. She will be traveling mostly by ground transportation, driving from site to site. Also enclosed is a Press Release issued in San Francisco, that can be used, adapted as appropriate, for each visited site.
For reference, see this article from the Kick-off ceremony in Santa Paula with the Mayor and the local KWVA Chapter, VFW, Police Chief, Ventura Motorcycle clubs, and Korean American community: Quest to visit nation's Korean War memorials kicks off in Santa Paula .
We, the undersigned President of KWVA and Chairman, KWVMFnd, urge and request that KWVA Chapters and members, federal chartered veterans organizations, civic leaders, patriotic citizens and public media support and publicize her journey.
(Webmaster Note: Ms. Kim is NOT trying to raise money from the KWVA chapters nor the Veterans. She is trying to promote awareness across the country to raise funds from the Korean American community, the American public-at-large and corporations.)
